The Parx Casino is a gaming venue located in Bensalem, Pennsylvania that was one of the first to launch online gaming in the state just a few months ago. The brand has now grown their iGaming footprint to include neighboring New Jersey, launching digital online gambling services in a second state.
Partnered with GAN
Parx Casino already works with GAN, a European gambling technology provider, for their online operations in Pennsylvania. They decided to continue that partnership as they launched in the Garden State. The brand seems to be looking to capitalize on the continually growing online casino industry in New Jersey, where tens of millions in revenues roll in each and every month.
The new online gambling service went live in NJ on Friday after a three day soft launch period where the platform was being tested before given final approval to launch full time. GAN Chief Executive Dermot Smurfit commented on the launch by stating it represents a revenue opportunity for GAN and is a logical extension for the technology infrastructure of the company to serve the patrons of Parx Casino.
Online Casino and Sports Betting
Parx Casino has been quite busy this year working on launching sports betting and online casino services. The owner of the Pennsylvania property, Greenwood Gaming & Entertainment Inc., partnered with GAN and Kambi earlier in the year to prepare for the launching of both services. Online sports betting as well as online casino gaming went live during the summer months. In August, the property opened their permanent retail sportsbook.
John Dixon, the COO of Greenwood, commented on the partnership with GAN, stating that their partner has been able to demonstrate that they can serve business needs in multiple states and this aligns with the cross-border nature of the existing customer base of the retail offering.
With the online casino launch in New Jersey, visitors to the Parx Casino from the Garden State and Pennsylvania can wager while in either state. Over the next few months, we shall see if Parx has what it takes to compete with the already successful online gaming operators in New Jersey like Golden Nugget and the Borgata.
Parx does know what they are doing as they have years of experience in the retail gaming industry. They have already seen success online in Pennsylvania with $1.1 million in revenues earned from August on bets of $53.1 million in wagers. The sportsbook for the brand was quite successful, having seen $6 million in total wagers in August, with $611,000 generated in revenues.
Revenues will be seen in November from October operations, but we will have to wait until December to see the first full month of operations for the Parx Casino online site in New Jersey. It will certainly be interesting to see where the brand lands on the list of revenue earnings. Will they find a spot at the top of the list?
