No Fanfare as Wynn Releases Online Sportsbooks with Integrated Casino in NJ

When it comes to launching a new online casino, poker room or sportsbook, most companies make the launch a big deal. They create huge promos for the opening, announcing it loud and proud. For Wynn Resorts, they took a different approach. With a recent sportsbook and online casino integration, they kept it low key. Like super low key. The company started a soft launch in early August and did not alert the public. Now the app is finished with the testing phase and ready to go. However, do players even know about it? The quiet launch may not play into the company’s favor.

Mobile Only Product

Wynn Sports launched last week, now offering fully functioning online sports betting and casino games, 24/7. The option is mobile only, so players will have to use a mobile device to access betting options. A browser version should launch later on.

Wynn Resorts does not have a physical property in Atlantic City, which is a requirement to offer online services in the state of New Jersey. They had to find a physical partner, so they decided to team up with Caesars Entertainment. The company owns many properties in Atlantic City and they are now supporting the Wynn Online Casino, which is the fourth skin on the brand’s license.

It is not odd that Wynn decided to keep the soft launch quiet. This allows a company to work out any issues before pushing the full site when it is ready to go. However, for Wynn, they don’t seem too concerned about either, just launching and not focusing on any heavy marketing.

New to Online Gaming

Wynn Resorts is a well-known name, especially to those who frequent Las Vegas. They have several properties in the area and also focus on international properties. Yet when it comes to online gaming, the company has very little experience. They launched a free-to-play mobile app for slots in Nevada as well as an online sportsbook.

One reason that Wynn is new to the scene just now is because they did not have a physical location in the key areas where online gambling is thriving. They are located in Las Vegas, Macau and Massachusetts. Without a physical location in a state where online gambling is legalized, it is much more difficult to get off the ground with a site launch.

It seems that since they have experience in sports betting, that is the route the brand decided to take when it came to online services. They offer a sportsbook with integrated casino games rather than a standalone casino app.

As far as casino games are concerned, the app does not offer table games. They have a few slots and should be adding more content soon. They are partnered with Scientific Games, so the content will be top notch in an already busy market.

Scientific Games actually has more than 2,500 slot and table games within its OpenGaming platform. This will allow Wynn to easily add more games as they see fit.
