Casino Industry Giants to Attend Gaming Congress in Atlantic City

Every year, gaming industry shareholders and experts gather at conferences and events to discuss the industry as well as promote new products and technology. The conferences are a great way to network and explore new ideas for the industry. Next week, the 23rd annual East Coast Gaming Congress and NextGen Gaming Forum is set to take place, with the best of best from Atlantic City and nearby attending.

Atlantic City Gaming Conference

The event will take place on June 12th and 13th, with keynote speakers being the American Gaming Association’s new President and CEO Bill Miller as well as New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy. During the only conference that takes place in Atlantic City, there will be several topics being discussed. On the agenda is the hot-button topic involving the recent new opinion of the United States Department of Justice involving the Wire Act.

Legal action is currently being taken against the new opinion as lotteries as well as online gambling operators feel their new industries are being threatened. Also under discussion during the event will be the impact of legalized sports betting on a national level along with the evolution of e-sports.

Top executives from across the country will be in attendance to take part in panels. The panel discussions allow industry insiders to provide factual information on a variety of subjects involving the gambling industry. Companies that will be represented during the event include the Cordish Company, Eldorado Resorts, Rush Street Gaming, Penn National Gaming and Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment.

Co-founder of the conference Michael Pollock commented on the upcoming conference by stating it is set up to be significantly different from other conferences involving gaming. The event is designed to bring decision makers to speak to an audience of decision makers. Insight is provided by professionals that can have a rippling event on the gaming industry.

Topics of Discussion

During the first day of the conference, a panel will be offered that features the future of the e-sports industry. Many experts in the gaming industry feel that this category of entertainment will be the next wave of casino gaming. E-sports is appealing to the millennial generation, a group that is not so enthralled by classic casino gaming like slots and table games.

On the second day, a discussion is scheduled to discuss the increased competition in the gaming industry of the Mid-Atlantic. It is believed this will be a popular panel during the conference event. In a 150 mile radius of the Philadelphia region, there are a total of 32 casinos. Operators as well as analysts will be on hand to discuss what it takes to survive as well as thrive in a market that is continually expanding.

Governor Phil Murphy is playing a vital role in the conference this year. Last year, he delivered the keynote address and he has been invited back in 2019 to do the same. The Governor has an interest in the gaming industry in general as well as tourism for the South Jersey region.

Overall, excitement is ramping up for the event, set to begin next week. The best of the best in the gaming industry of New Jersey as well as surrounding states will be on hand to take part in panel discussions or to listen in as experts provide insight into various subjects including e-sports, sports betting, the Wire Act and more. It will be interesting to see what revelations come about once the conference is in full swing!
